Dragon Tails

Dragon Tails is a 3D web comic about eight dragons created by Tim Dawson, an Australian artist living in Adelaide. The first strip was run on March 11, 1999, and continued, 7 days a week 52 weeks a year, until the 2000th strip, which was published on October 23, 2004. On that day, Dawson announced he would be taking an indefinite hiatus.

The cast is mainly the eight "young" dragon brothers who live together in a place known as the Forest. Other characters include the robot Colin, his minibot Billy, a very intelligent cat called Moppy, and an anarchic dictatorial squirrel called Norman along with his female clone Normeena. Listed is a brief description of each character in alphabetical order.

Major characters

Abijar - Light green scales; Twin brother of Cornelius; musician; has largest MP3 and MIDI collection of the whole gang.

Billy - Miniature robot; Colin's son; has innocent nature and experiments with many ideas.

Bios - Large, gangly robot; armed with missile warheads on back; practical killing machine starting to learn of morality.

Bluey - Blue scales; twin brother of Goldy; loves technology and explosive objects; failing rocket scientist and inventor; total videogame addict (especially of Sega games).

Brainy - Red scales; usually works with Bluey on inventions (especially on rockets); excelling cook.

Colin - Robot; created by Bluey but now fully independent; has rocket-powered arms; slightly detests humanity; has wires hanging out at back of head ponytail-style.

Corlis - Dark green scales; twin brother of Lemuel; usually cynical and most sarcastic of the gang; struggling stand-up comedian.

Cornelius - Purple scales; twin brother of Abijar; usually the most philosophical of the gang.

Enigma - Black scales, metallic horns; eldest of the eight; very strong; loves reading; hates Norman.

Goldy - Gold scales; twin brother of Bluey; usually challenged by Bluey because of sibling link; excellent artist.

Lemuel - White scales; pacifist; very good at controlling and fighting destructive robots. The only one who is friends with Norman.

Moppy - White kitten; bought by Lemuel as a gift to Corlis; very intelligent despite only saying "mow"; very attached to Corlis as a pet.

Norman - Squirrel; dreams of conquering and enslaving a nation; armed with a Beretta called "Ol' Betsy"; hates Enigma; has little morality.

Normeena - Squirrel; female clone of Norman due to an error on the cloning registration form; cost $300,000 approx; quite strong but gentle and sweet-natured; friends with Enigma.

Minor characters

Bobby - Billy's brother, ran away after insanely integrating itself with many things.

Dark Thunder - Winner of the last Dragons' Battle Championship; beat Enigma.

Firewing - An orange dragon from another tribe; penpals with Lemuel.

Luna - A rock from the moon; non-sentient; Colin's girlfriend; ran away with a wrench.

Talbot - A friendly polar bear in the North who met Abijar and Cornelius.

Talon - Firewing's brother; stupid but very strong.

Tethys - A commander of an underwater race who swears vengeance on land-dwellers for damaging the ocean. One of Tim Dawson's favourite characters.

The Dinos - An Allosaurus, a stegosaurus and a brontosaurus who the dragons met when time-travelling.

Tocsin - Unknown white flying creature; found in small black ball; able to project 3-D images and maps.

Uncle Sparky - The only known member of family to the eight dragon brothers. Likes female dragons and drinking beer; good at blackmail.
