The Curry Tree, Curry-leaf Tree, or Curry Patta (Murraya koenigii; sometimes classified as Bergera koenigii or Chalcas koenigii), is a species in the family Rutaceae.
This tropical to sub-tropical tree is native to India, where its leaves are used as a herb. The tree grows 2-5 m tall, with small white, fragrant flowers. The small black, shiny berries are claimed to be edible, but their seeds are claimed to be poisonous. The leaves of the curry tree must be used fresh, as they lose their flavour when dried.
