Crossfade
|
Crossfade is a post grunge band originating in Columbia, South Carolina. The group came together in the late 1990s with the merging of singer/guitarist Ed Sloan with bassist/backup singer Mitch James and drummer Brian Geiger as the power trio The Nothing. The group added singer and DJ Tony Byroads from Buffalo, NY. The resulting quartet renamed itself Sugardaddy Superstar. It first gained recognition beyond its region when it attracted the interest of the Los Angeles A&R company Taxi. This ultimately led to the signing of a record deal with the Earshot division of Columbia Records. They released their first album on April 13th 2004.
The group is now a three-piece band as of spring 2005 due to the departure of the DJ/backing vocalist Tony Byroads. He wanted to spend time with his family. However, the group will continue touring and start doing work on their second full-length album that is due out sometime in 2006.
