Cordova is a census-designated place located in Talbot County, Maryland. As of the 2000 census, the CDP had a total population of 592.
Geography
Cordova is located at 38°52'40" North, 75°59'28" West (38.877699, -75.990973)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the CDP has a total area of 12.6 km² (4.9 mi²). 12.6 km² (4.8 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 592 people, 214 households, and 167 families residing in the CDP. The population density is 47.1/km² (122.0/mi²). There are 230 housing units at an average density of 18.3/km² (47.4/mi²). The racial makeup of the CDP is 89.70% White, 9.80% African American, 0.17% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.17% from other races, and 0.17% from two or more races. 1.69% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 214 households out of which 39.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 61.7% are married couples living together, 11.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 21.5% are non-families. 18.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.3% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.15.
