A company in the broadest sense is an aggregation of people who stay together for a common purpose. Such usage includes people assembled
- for commercial or judicial purposes, organised as a type of business organization. See company (law) or the term corporation which may have the same meaning, depending on the jurisdiction.

- as the officers and crew, collectively, of a ship.
