Commodity Futures Trading Commission

The Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) is an independent agency of the United States Government, created by Congress in 1974. It is responsible to record and monitor trades of commodity futures. If misconduct, fraud, or breaking a rule is performed, the CFTC has the authority to fine, suspend, or sue the company or an individual in a federal court.
