Combusken is a stage 1 evolution of one of the three Hoenn starter Pokémon (the other two are Grovyle and Marshtomp).

Ruby: "Combusken toughens up its legs and thighs by running through fields and mountains. This Pokémon's legs possess both speed and power, enabling it to dole out ten kicks in one second."

In-game details
Combusken is a middle-evolution. Combusken evolves from Torchic at Level 16, and evolves into Blaziken at Level 36. Its Ability is Blaze, meaning when this Pokémon's HP gets low, its Fire type attacks multiply in power by 1.5(the same amount that Stab gives).
Name origin
Combusken is a combination of combust and chicken. The origin of its Japanese name, Wakashamo comes from "Wakai"(若い) meaning "young" and "shamo"(軍鶏) or "game fowl". Therefore, 'young fowl'.

In the Pokémon anime, Combusken appered in the episode "Having a Wailord of A Time!". It evolved by accident from a Torchic that was going to be a first Pokémon choice for a new trainer.
May's Torchic also evolves into Combusken in the episode "The Forest's Fighting King! Combusken Vs. Breloom!"
