Coaldale is a borough located in Schuylkill County, Pennsylvania. As of the 2000 census, the borough had a total population of 2,295.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the borough has a total area of 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²). 5.6 km² (2.2 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.

The racial makeup of the borough is 98.34% White, 0.31% African American, 0.04% Native American, 0.26% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.57% from other races, and 0.48% from two or more races. 1.13% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,046 households out of which 22.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 40.2% are married couples living together, 11.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 42.0% are non-families. 38.7% of all households are made up of individuals and 24.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older.
