[tɕe'xanuv]) is a town in north-central Poland with 46,600 inhabitants (1995). It is situated in the Masovian Voivodship (since 1999) and was previously the capital of Ciechanow Voivodship (1975-1998). Before WWII home to a large Jewish community.
