Cheesequake State Park

Cheesequake State Park is state park of the U.S. state of New Jersey, located near Matawan, New Jersey. The park is situated in the salt marshes and tidal estuary of Cheesequake Creek near its mouth on Raritan Bay, as well as in the surrounded hills overlooking the estuary. The park is situated along the Garden State Parkway with much of it being visible from the road.
The park includes extensive trails through the wooded hills and across the salt marshes on long wooden bridges. A section of the park includes a small parcel of pine forest in sandy soil, an isolated area of the much larger Pine Barrens in central New Jersey.
