Charles Emmanuel III of Sardinia

Charles Emmanuel III (April 27, 1701 - February 20, 1773) was the Duke of Savoy and King of Sardinia from 1730 to 1773. A competent soldier-king, he gained territory for himself by fighting on the French side in the War of the Polish Succession and then on the Austrian side in the War of the Austrian Succession.
He married
- 1. Anne Christine Louise of Bavaria (b.1704-d.1723), hence she is a Wittelsbach. She died a few days later after having a son.
- 1. Vittorio Amedeo (b.1723-d.1725).
- 2. Polixena (Felicia?) Christina of Hesse-Rheinfels(b.1706-d.1735) and had 6 children.
- 1. Victor Amadeus III of Savoy (b.1726-d.1796).
- 2. Eleneor, (b.1728-d.1781) unmarried.
- 3. Louise, a nun (b.1729-d.1767).
- 4. Emmanuel Philibert, (b.1731-d.1735).

- 6. Maria Felicita, (b.1730-d.1801) unmarried.
- 3. Elisabeth Teresa of Lorraine (b.1711-d.1741), younger sister of Francis I. She had 3 children.
- 1. Charles, Duke of Aosta (1738-1745).
- 2. Victoria, (b.1740-d.1742).
- 3. Benedetto, (b.1741-d.1808). Duke of Chablais (-1796) & Marquise of Ivrea (1796-1808). He married his niece Maria Anna, Princess of Savoy (b.1757-d1824) and daughter of Victor Amadeus III of Savoy .
