Centerville is a town located in Hickman County, Tennessee. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,793. It is the county seat of Hickman CountyTemplate:GR. It is probably best known for being the hometown of country comedienne Minnie Pearl.

Centerville is located at 35°47'18" North, 87°27'21" West (35.788218, -87.455890)Template:GR.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 28.2 km² (10.9 mi²). 28.2 km² (10.9 mi²) of it is land and none of the area is covered with water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 3,793 people, 1,563 households, and 997 families residing in the town. The population density is 134.5/km² (348.4/mi²). There are 1,688 housing units at an average density of 59.8/km² (155.0/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 93.51% White, 4.77% African American, 0.37% Native American, 0.03% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.24% from other races, and 1.08% from two or more races. 0.90% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,563 households out of which 27.3% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 48.3% are married couples living together, 11.8% have a female householder with no husband present, and 36.2% are non-families. 34.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 19.4% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.28 and the average family size is 2.89.
