Catmon is a 5th class municipality in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 25,083 people in 5,198 households. It is located 57 kilometers from the Cebu City next to the town of Carmen.
Tore, Cebu's second highest peak, is located in Catmon, situated in barangay Cambangkaya.
Barangays
Catmon is politically subdivided into 20 barangays.

History
According to folklore, people of Cambangkaya were part of the Datu Lapu-Lapu's tribes in Mactan island of the 16th century. They tried to avoid the Spaniards after the death of the chieftain of Mactan sometime in 1560.
