Cat People (comics)

The Cat People are a fictional species of humanoids in Marvel Comics' universe. They were created from ordinary house cats by a medieval sorcerer named Ebrok. Ebrok's fellow sorcerers objected to the species' proliferation and banished all the Cat People to another dimension, except for Ebrok's two creations, Flavius and Helene. They also created a counterspell which prevented them from creating any more. Flavius and Helene found that, instead of turning cats into cat-people, they could turn people into cat-people. This second race of Cat People could revert to their human appearance, and were able to hide among men in the intervening centuries.
