Capelle aan den IJssel

Capelle aan den IJssel (population: 65,354 in 2004) is a town in the western Netherlands, in the province of South Holland. The municipality covers an area of 15.42 km² (of which 1.13 km² water).
It is connected to the east side of Rotterdam and situated on the Hollandse IJssel river.
- The Caland Line starts at De Terp station, proceeds to Capelle Centrum station and Slotlaan station, then to Rotterdam, Schiedam and Spijkenisse.
- Connections with the main railway system are at Rotterdam Blaak station and at Schiedam Centrum station, and with a change of underground at Beurs underground station, at Rotterdam Centraal station. To and from the direction The Hague the fastest connection is usually with a change at Schiedam Centrum, for other directions it varies.
