Campaign for an Independent Britain

The Campaign for an Independent Britain (CIB) is a Eurosceptic lobbying group which openly calls for Britain's withdrawal from the European Union.
It was founded in 1976 as the Safeguard Britain Campaign, before emerging as the British Anti-Common Market Campaign in 1983. In 1989 it became the Campaign for an Independent Britain. It claims up to 3,400 individual members.
Sir Richard Body, a former Conservative MP is president of the group. Sir Teddy Taylor MP, is a vice-president. Russell White, leader of the radical right Populist Party, is its London South East organiser, and plans to set up anti-EU meetups London Anti-EU meetup (http://federaleuro.meetup.com/5/) in 2005.
The former Conservative leader, Iain Duncan Smith, and Bernard Jenkin, a former member of the Shadow Cabinet, have both addressed the CIB.
