Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses (abbreviation: CP; English: Portuguese Railways) is the state railway company of Portugal. Companhia dos Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses was founded in 1951. It was renamed Caminhos de Ferro Portugueses, EP in 1975. EP stands for empresa pública, public corporation.
CP's premier service is a high-speed line named Alfa Pendular. It travels between Lisbon and Porto, with stops at other large cities.
