Callander is a burgh in the region of Stirling, Scotland, on the River Teith. It lies on the eastern fringe of the Trossachs. The town now attracts a number of tourists and has a visitor centre largely devoted to Rob Roy MacGregor, who lived in the nearby village of Balquhidder. Callander achieved prominence during the 1960s as the setting for the TV series Dr Findlay's Casebook. At one time it was notorious for having 18 pubs to service a population of only 1800 people.
