Brossard is a city in southwestern Quebec, Canada on the St. Lawrence River and Saint-Jacques River (South). Population (2001): 65,026
It was merged into the city of Longueuil in 2002, but voted for demerger in 2004.
The city is a suburb of Montréal, separated by the St. Lawrence River. Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours merged with Brossard in 1978 to form the current city.
Brossard is a multi-ethnic city, more than 30% are foreign-born.
Brossard is a residential city (with some 14-floor residential towers) with large commercial zones (Taschereau Boulevard, Mail Champlain, Panama Avenue, LaPiniere Blvd) and a industrial zone.
