Shad Gregory Moss (born March 9, 1987 in Columbus, Ohio), is a rapper who was formerly known as "Lil Bow Wow", but is now known in the music world as simply "Bow Wow". Moss' biological father never saw him, and he was raised by his mother and her husband with his daughter, Erica.
When Moss was five, he started his career in rap, using the monicker Kid Gangsta. One year later, he took off front stage during the Chronic tour and impressed rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg. Dogg later hired him as an opening act, and introduced him to Jermaine Dupri, a man who helped shape Moss' career.
He backed up his first album's (Beware of Dog) success with 2001's Doggy Bag, an album that contained such songs as Thank You, and Take You Home.
In addition to his own albums, Bow Wow has participated in Will Smith's album Wild Wild West (named after the movie which also stars Smith), he shot a video with Lizzie McGuire's star Hilary Duff, and had a guest appearance on Brandy's show, Moesha. He made his acting debut in a movie named Like Mike, where he acts as a young orphan who gets a shot at the NBA. He is also apparently a good friend of basketball star Allen Iverson, and there were rumors of him dating Kiely Williams, who is a member of singing group 3LW, but he denied any relationship between the two.
He was Punk'd by Ashton Kutcher's crew members or Ashton Kutcher for losing some borrowed bling.
