Boston Cooler
|
A Boston Cooler is an ice cream soda drink composed of ginger ale and vanilla ice cream, cream, or milk, similar to a root beer float. Because the Boston Cooler was invented in Detroit (it takes its name from Boston Blvd), it is traditionally made with Vernor's, a strong-flavored golden ginger ale. Although ginger ale is popular in Boston, Massachusetts, the Boston Cooler is unheard of there.
