Bob Goodlatte

Robert William "Bob" Goodlatte (born September 22 1952) is a Republican U.S. Representative from Virginia. Born in Holyoke, Massachusetts, Goodlate received a B.A. from Bates College in Lewiston, Maine in 1974. He also holds a J.D. from Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia (1977). Goodlatte was an attorney in prviate practice in his early professional career before becoming a staff aide for U.S. Representative M. Caldwell Butler of Virginia, from 1977-1979. He was elected as a Republican to the One Hundred Third and to the six succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1993-present), representing the Sixth Congressional District of Virginia (map (http://nationalatlas.gov/printable/images/preview/congdist/va06_109.gif)). In the One Hundred Eighth and succeeding Congress, Goodlatte served as chair of the House Committee on Agriculture.Template:US-politician-stub
