Bliss Blood
|
Bliss Blood plays ukulele in the Hawaiian-themed New York City group The Moonlighters. She often collaborates with members of The Melvins.
An Omaha native, Blood began performing in 1985 with The Pain Teens, a noisy atmospheric duo with Scott Ayers from Texas. Later she moved to New York City and began performing with a giddy folk combo called Planet Filly with Daria Klotz of God Is My Co-Pilot and Dame Darcy. The group performed several times on Turn of the Century. Bliss and Daria left Planet Filly for The Moonlighters, a group Bliss started with Henry Bogdan of the rock band Helmet. Blood also collaborated with political grindcore group Exit-13 on a cover album of old marijuana songs titled Smoking Songs.
Recently, Blood has also sung with Michael Gira's Angels of Light and The Central Park Stompers.
