Benzonia is a village located in Benzie County, Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the village had a total population of 519. The village is located within Benzonia Township at the southeast end of Crystal Lake on U.S. Highway 31 at the junction with Michigan State Highway 115 west.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 2.7 km² (1.1 mi²). 2.7 km² (1.1 mi²) of it is land and none of it is covered by water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 519 people, 211 households, and 128 families residing in the village. The population density is 189.0/km² (488.2/mi²). There are 254 housing units at an average density of 92.5/km² (238.9/mi²). The racial makeup of the village is 93.45% White, 0.39% African American, 3.08% Native American, 0.39% Asian, 0.19% Pacific Islander, 0.96% from other races, and 1.54% from two or more races. 2.89% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 211 households out of which 25.6% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 44.5% are married couples living together, 12.3% have a female householder with no husband present, and 39.3% are non-families. 33.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 19.9% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.25 and the average family size is 2.88.
In the village the population is spread out with 21.0% under the age of 18, 10.4% from 18 to 24, 25.6% from 25 to 44, 22.4% from 45 to 64, and 20.6% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 100.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 106.0 males.
The median income for a household in the village is $28,650, and the median income for a family is $35,104. Males have a median income of $25,469 versus $20,313 for females.
