Bennington is a town located in Wyoming County, New York in the USA. As of the 2000 census, the town had a total population of 3,349.

History
The Town of Bennington was incorporated in 1818.
Geography
The west town line is the border of Erie County, New York, and the north town line is the border of Erie County and Genesee County, New York.
According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 143.1 km² (55.3 mi²). 142.6 km² (55.0 mi²) of it is land and 0.6 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.40% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 3,349 people, 1,208 households, and 966 families residing in the town. The population density is 23.5/km² (60.8/mi²). There are 1,273 housing units at an average density of 8.9/km² (23.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the town is 99.07% White, 0.06% African American, 0.12% Native American, 0.12% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 0.03% from other races, and 0.60% from two or more races. 0.27% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 1,208 households out of which 34.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 70.6% are married couples living together, 6.0% have a female householder with no husband present, and 20.0% are non-families. 16.2% of all households are made up of individuals and 6.0% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.77 and the average family size is 3.11.
