Bejam
|
Bejam was a British food supermarket, founded by John Apthorp in 1968, based in Stanmore. It sold only frozen foods, which was a novel idea at the time it launched. A small part of its revenue was also derived from the sale of freezers and refrigerators. Bejam also sold electrical appliances with the Bejam brand name, mostly fridges and freezers, but also Bejam Microwave Ovens.
In 1989, it was bought by its rival Iceland.
Bejam had bought the Victor Value chain of supermarkets in 1986; soon after the sale, Iceland sold Victor Value on to Tesco.Template:Retail-stub
