Baillieston is a village and suburb on the eastern edge of Glasgow, the largest city in Scotland.
It lies on the A89 corridor, between the town of Coatbridge, and the Glasgow suburb of Shettleston. This corridor once formed the only route between Glasgow and Edinburgh, which has long since been replaced by the A8 and M8 motorway. currently the district - which also encompasses Barrachnie, Garrowhill and Swinton has a population of approx.17,000 people.
