Bacteriochlorophyll

Bacteriochlorophyll is a photosynthetic pigment that occurs in some bacteria. It is a magnesium-containing porphyrin that resembles but is not identical to the chlorophyll of cyanobacteria, eucaryotic algae, and green plants. It occurs in anoxygenic phototrophic bacteria (i.e. in bacteria that can use light energy but do not produce oxygen).Template:Bacteria-stub
