Arni, Silk Arni

Arni is a small town in the state of Tamil Nadu, India. The town is popular for its silk-weaving community. The silk weavers are called Sengunthars. Silk is a rich fabric used to make Silk Sarees. Saree is an unique dress worn by the women in India and some of its neighbouring countries.
Though the town is not well known outside of Tamilnadu, a bulk of India's silk apparels is produced by the people of this town. Mostly, handloom technique is used for weaving, though recently some have resorted to mechanized method. In India, Silk sarees are considered to be ornamental possessions. The Postal Index Number (PIN) of the town is 632601.
