Apollo Beach is an unincorporated census-designated place located in Hillsborough County, Florida. As of the 2000 census, the community had a total population of 7,444.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the community has a total area of 15.3 km² (5.9 mi²). 14.7 km² (5.7 mi²) of it is land and 0.5 km² (0.2 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 3.56% water.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there are 7,444 people, 3,132 households, and 2,361 families residing in the community. The population density is 505.1/km² (1,308.3/mi²). There are 3,404 housing units at an average density of 231.0/km² (598.3/mi²). The racial makeup of the community is 93.82% White, 0.85% African American, 0.40% Native American, 1.40% Asian, 0.00% Pacific Islander, 2.11% from other races, and 1.42% from two or more races. 7.43% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 3,132 households out of which 23.7% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 65.5% are married couples living together, 6.9% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.6% are non-families. 19.3% of all households are made up of individuals and 7.6% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.38 and the average family size is 2.70.
In the community the population is spread out with 18.2% under the age of 18, 5.2% from 18 to 24, 24.3% from 25 to 44, 33.7% from 45 to 64, and 18.7% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 46 years. For every 100 females there are 99.4 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 98.1 males.
