Alldays & Onions
|
The oddly-named Alldays & Onions was an English automobile that was manufactured from 1898 to 1918. The car was a product of the Alldays & Onions Pneumatic Engineering Co. of Birmingham, which entered the car field with a quadricycle called the "Traveller". In 1900 the company introduced a rear-engined flat-twin 7hp four-seater described as being of "novel construction" - this was shown first at the National Show. The shaft, gear transmission, and belt on this model were combined with great inefficiancy. In 1903 the company introduced a shaft-drive singe, following it in 1905 with a twin-cylinder 10/12hp that lasted until 1913. Next was a 20/25hp four, joined in 1908 by a 14/18hp. In 1911 Alldays introduced a 30/35 six of 4891cc; a vee-twin light car, christened the "Midget", appeared in 1913. In 1914 the company introduced a bullnosed 9hp four. In 1918 Alldays & Onions merged with Enfield, which company they had owned since 1907.
