Siddig El Fadil (born 21 November, 1965) is a Sudanese/English actor also known as Alexander Siddig. He is most famous for playing Dr Julian Bashir in the Star Trek television series Deep Space Nine.

Biography
Siddig was born in Sudan but spent most of his life in England. He acted under his original name Siddig El Fadil until he changed it during the production of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine. In 2003 he guest starred in a controversial episode of Spooks, a British television show in its second season.
Siddig married fellow Star Trek actor Nana Visitor in 1997. They had a son who was born in 1996, Django El Tahir El Siddig. Siddig and Visitor divorced in 2001.
Siddig is the nephew of English actor Malcolm McDowell and of former Sudanese Prime Minister Sadiq al-Mahdi.
