Albion Township is a township located in Calhoun County in the U.S. state of Michigan. As of the 2000 census, the township had a total population of 1,200.

The City of Albion is located on the northern boundary of the township, though it is politically independent. There are two small unincorporated communities in the township:
- Babcock is at Template:Coor dms, about two miles southwest of Albion city. It is just west of the south branch of the Kalamazoo River. Midway Airport, a small airfield, is nearby. The FIPS place code is 04690. The elevation is 959 feet above sea level.
- Condit is at Template:Coor dms, about four miles southwest of Albion city and two miles north of Homer. The FIPS place code is 17770.
Geography
According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 85.5 km² (33.0 mi²). 84.8 km² (32.8 mi²) of it is land and 0.7 km² (0.3 mi²) of it is water. The total area is 0.85% water.
Demographics
As of the census2 of 2000, there are 1,200 people, 466 households, and 353 families residing in the township. The population density is 14.1/km² (36.6/mi²). There are 493 housing units at an average density of 5.8/km² (15.1/mi²). The racial makeup of the township is 94.58% White, 2.67% African American, 0.33% Native American, 0.00% Asian, 0.08% Pacific Islander, 0.58% from other races, and 1.75% from two or more races. 2.67% of the population are Hispanic or Latino of any race.
There are 466 households out of which 29.4% have children under the age of 18 living with them, 63.3% are married couples living together, 7.7% have a female householder with no husband present, and 24.2% are non-families. 19.5% of all households are made up of individuals and 9.2% have someone living alone who is 65 years of age or older. The average household size is 2.55 and the average family size is 2.91.
In the township the population is spread out with 24.6% under the age of 18, 6.2% from 18 to 24, 27.2% from 25 to 44, 25.3% from 45 to 64, and 16.8% who are 65 years of age or older. The median age is 40 years. For every 100 females there are 97.7 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there are 94.6 males.
The median income for a household in the township is $40,625, and the median income for a family is $44,531. Males have a median income of $33,500 versus $24,167 for females. The per capita income for the township is $16,849. 8.8% of the population and 7.1% of families are below the poverty line. Out of the total population, 10.7% of those under the age of 18 and 7.9% of those 65 and older are living below the poverty line.
