Aka Morchiladze (pen name of Giorgi Akhvlediani) (born November 10, 1966) is a Georgian writer and historian, one of the best novelists in the post-Soviet Georgia.
In 1988 he graduated from the Faculty of History of the Tbilisi State University (TSU). He has been working at this University for many years.
Main literary works of Aka Morchiladze are novels: "Moondogs of Paliashvili Street" (1995), "To Disappear on Madatov Island" (1998), "The Trip to Karabakh" (1992), "To Play a Patience in August" (2001), "The other" (2002), "Christmas night witches" (2002), "Old Refugee Shop" (2003), "Santa Esperanza" (2004), etc.
In 2003 and 2005 Aka Morchiladze received a prestigious literary Prize "Saba".
