Air Caraïbes is the regional airline of the French Caribbean which comprises the overseas departments of France: Guadeloupe and Martinique. The airline is based in Pointe-à-Pitre in Guadeloupe. It now also operates Trans Atlantic flights to Paris using Airbus A330 aircraft.

History
Air Caraïbes started in 1998, out of the necessity to have a regional airline responding to the needs of the French Caribbean territories. The company was founded through the merger of various local airlines (Air Guadeloupe, Air Martinique, Air St Barthélémy, Air St Martin). In 2002, the company flew 445,000 passengers and earned 68 Millions Euros in revenues. It has routes to 13 cities in territories and employs over 370 people. It is part of the Caribsky Alliance, an airline alliance which comprises in addition to Air Caraïbes the following airlines: LIAT and Winair (Windward Islands Airways).
Services
Destinations include: Santo Domingo, Les Saintes, Saint Lucia, Saint Barthélémy, Marie-Galante, Port-au-Prince, Union, Grenadines, La Désirade, Saint Martin, Paris (France), Fort-de-France and Port-of-Spain.
Air Caraïbes serves inter-Caribbean routes between 13 islands, as well as Belem in Brazil. Since December 2003 it has operated transatlantic routes to Paris from Pointe-a-Pitre and Fort-de-France, left vacant by the withdrawal of Air Liberte (ref:Airliner World, April 2005).

A further ATR 72-500 has been ordered for November 2005 delivery to replace the current ATR 42-500 (ref:Airliner World, April 2005).
