Air Algerie is the national airline of Algeria, based in Algiers. It operates domestic and international services, as well as charter, air taxi and agricultural flights.

Code Data
History
Air Algerie started life in 1947 as Société Algérienne de Construction Aéronautique (SACA)-Air Algérie. On 23 May 1953 it merged with the Compagnie Air Transport to form Compagnie Générale de Transports Aériens (CGTA)-Air Algérie. In 1962 the company become Air Algérie (Entreprise Nationale d'Exploitation des Services Aériens) and was nationalised in 1972. It employs 8,530 staff and has a 49% holding in Tassili Airlines.

Air Algerie operates the following services (at January 2005):
- Domestic scheduled services: Adrar, Algiers, Annaba, Batna, Bechar, Bejaia, Biskra, Bordj Badji Mokhtar, Constantine, Djanet, El Golea, El Oued, Ghardaia, Hassi Messaoud, Illizi, In Amenas, In Salah, Jijel, Oran, Ouargla, Setif, Tamanrasset, Tbessa, Timimoun, Tindouf, Tlemcen and Touggourt.
- International scheduled destinations: Abidjan, Agades, Alicante, Amman, Bamako, Barcelona, Basle/Mulhouse, Beirut, Bordeaux, Brussels, Cairo, Casablanca, Dakar, Damascus, Dubai, Frankfurt, Geneva, Istanbul, Lille, London, Lyon, Madrid, Marseilles, Metz/Nancy, Niamey, Nice, Nouakchott, Ouagadougou, Paris, Rome, Sharjah, Toulouse, Tripoli and Tunis.
