The slogan "a woman's right to choose" asserts the position that every pregnant female has (or should have) an absolute right to privacy, including discussions with her physician about whether to attempt to carry a pregnancy to term. It is primarily used by advocates of loosening legal restrictions on abortion, especially in the United States.
The slogan casts the debate over abortion in terms of the personal rights of the pregnant woman as recognized in United States Supreme Court decision of Roe v. Wade.

Use by anti-hijab-ban campaigners
Recently, Salma Yaqoob, head of of the Birmingham Stop the War Coalition used the slogan "A woman's right to choose" as the title of a speech campaigning against the French law on secularity and conspicuous religious symbols in schools and other laws around the world which restrict the right of Muslim women to wear hijab.
Some attack the use of this slogan for this purpose, as most Muslims regard hijab as obligatory for Muslim women - in fact Salma's view that forced veiling of women is as wrong as forced unveiling has been attacked by fundamentalists[1] (http://www.inminds.co.uk/election-guide-2005-birmingham-sparkbrook-and-small-heath.html#respect).
