A6144(M) motorway

The A6144(M) is a British motorway located in Carrington, Greater Manchester. It is a unique motorway in that the whole thing is entirely single carrigeway. Just over a mile long, the road connects the A6144 road to the M60 at Junction 8.
Many people say that it is undeserving of its motorway status, pointing out that it is single-carriageway along its entire length and one lane wide in each direction. In addition, it is possible to go from the A6144 to the A56 without going on any part of the motorway system other than the A6144(M). However the M60 is being widened and it is expected that the A6144(M) will lose its motorway status within the next couple of years.
It is the highest numbered A-road(M) motorway and is also the only Axxxx(M) motorway.
