A.P. Lutali

Lutali Aifili Paulo Lauvao, better known as A.P. Lutali (December 24, 1919 - August 1, 2002), was the governor of American Samoa from 1985 to 1989 and from 1993 until 1997. He ran for reelection in 1996, but was defeated in a landslide, only reaching third place, behind L. Peter Reid and Tauese Pita Fiti Sunia. Sunia and Reid then participated in a runoff, which Sunia won. Lutali was a member of the United States Democratic Party.
