25th Hour is a Spike Lee "joint" (motion picture) based on David Benioff's novel The 25th Hour. The cast includes Edward Norton, Barry Pepper, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Rosario Dawson, Brian Cox and Anna Paquin.
Norton plays the part of Montgomery "Monty" Brogan, a convicted drug dealer who has one last day of freedom before beginning a seven-year prison sentence.

Plot summary
It paints a picture of how a man who was once a king of city life can lose everything all so soon. In the movie, a famous scene of Monty staring in the mirror of the restroom while his reflection cusses out the hatred towards every person he can think of in his life, from minorities to his closest family and friends to himself. All this was fueled by his loss of what we take for granted, "freedom".
Betrayal
The movie depicts how the person who tipped off the cops was the last person he suspected. While Monty wrongly suspected his Puerto Rican girlfriend, the tipster turned out to be his Ukrainian gangster 'friend'.
Monty Brogan
Irish American, main character, 31 years old.
Francis Xavier Slaughtery
Played by Barry Pepper is his best friend since the age of 3. The classic 'phony' once viewed behind his back. He's a successful stock broker as well as an arrogant stud. He never does what he thinks, but always has 'options'
