You Rang M'Lord?

You Rang M'Lord? was a British television series broadcast between 1990 and 1993 on BBC (although there had earlier been a pilot episode in the late 1980s). The show was a comedy set in the house of a aristocractic family in the 1920s, contrasting the upper-class family and their servants in a house in London. It was written by Jimmy Perry and David Croft, and featured many actors who had also appeared in their earlier series, especially Paul Shane, Jeffrey Holland and Su Pollard, all of whom had previously been in Perry and Croft's sitcom, Hi-De-Hi.
Episodes of You Rang M'Lord? were 50 minutes long, rather than the usual 30, and attempted to introduce a more reflective approach than other Croft and Perry series. However, it failed to come anywhere near the popularity of Hi-De-Hi, Dad's Army, It Ain't Half Hot Mum, 'Allo 'Allo! and Are You Being Served? (the latter two were co-written by Croft with Jeremy Lloyd) and it has rarely if ever been repeated due to the length of the episodes not suiting current broadcast slots.
