Yakov Permyakov

Yakov Permyakov (Пермяков, Яков in Russian) (unknown - died in 1712), Russian seafarer, merchant, Cossack.
In 1710, while sailing from the Lena River to the Kolyma River, Permyakov observed two unknown islands in the sea, that would later be called Bolshoy Lyakhovsky and Medvezhiy. In 1712, he and his companion M.Vagin crossed the area from the mouth of Yana to Bolshoy Lyakhovsky Island over the ice and explored it. On their way back, Permyakov was killed by his rebellious cossacks.
