The Yakama Nation, formerly known as Yakima, is a Native American group with almost 9,000 enrolled members, living in Washington (state). Their reservation, along the Yakima River, covers an area of approximately 1.3 million acres (5,260 km²).
Some of the land area is used to cultivate hops, a main ingredient used to make beer.
Yakima is a northwestern dialect of Sahaptin, a Sahaptian language of the Plateau Penutian stock.Template:Na-lang-stub
