Workers and Peasants Socialist Party

The Workers and Peasants Socialist Party (Parti socialiste ouvrier et paysan, PSOP) was an ephemeral socialist organisation in France formed in the late 1930s by Marceau Pivert. It developed out of a leftwing faction of the French Socialist Party (SFIO) called Gauche Revolutionnaire (Revolutionary Left) that was expelled from the party. Another well known leader was Daniel Geurin. Internationally it was an affiliate of the London Bureau of leftwing socialist parties, which also included the British Independent Labour Party and the Spanish Workers Party of Marxist Unification (POUM). The PSOP collapsed at the beginning of the Second World War
