Bill Etherington

William Etherington (born 17 July 1941) is the Labour Party MP for Sunderland North, in north east England. He is a left-winger, and a member of the Socialist Campaign Group, and has rebelled against Tony Blair's government. He was a full-time official for the NUM during the Miners' Strike.
He was first elected in 1992, replacing fellow left-winger Bob Clay, and was re-elected in 1997, 2001 and 2005.
