Wendy Cope

Wendy Cope (born 1945) is a contemporary British poet. Born in Erith, Kent, she was educated at Farringtons School and went on to read history at St Hilda's College, Oxford. She is known for her light humorous verse, such as Bloody Men.
She has had published three full books of her poetry ('Making Cocoa for Kingsley Amis' in 1986, 'Serious Concerns' in 1992 and 'If I Don't Know' in 2001), as well as editing several anthologies of comic verse.
