There are a number of uses for the term Watcher:
- The Watchers are the fallen angels of the Bible and the Book of Enoch, who fell to earth in the days of Jared in Genesis, instead falling to Hell. They fell because of their want of mortal women. Their human-angel hybrid offspring are the giants.
- A Watcher in the television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer is a member of a secret organisation devoted to tracking and combatting malevolent supernatural entities.
- A Watcher from the Highlander television series, is a member of a secret organisation devoted to tracking Immortals.
- In the "Logopolis" serial (1981) of the television series Doctor Who, The Watcher was a spectral figure that would appear in the distance, watching, whenever something significant happened.
- The Watcher is a mystery novel by Kay Nolte Smith.
- The Watcher is the name of a super-powerful pacifist character in the universe of Marvel Comics.
