Walter Short

Lieutenant General Walter Campbell Short (1880–1949) was the U.S. military Commander responsible for the defense of U.S. military installations in Hawaii at the time of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. He was subsequently accused of being unprepared for the attack and relieved of his command, and is considered by some to have been something of a scapegoat, receiving blame along with the Navy commander, Husband E. Kimmel.
