WWCD is an FM radio station in Grove City, Ohio located at 101.1MHz. The station serves the Columbus, Ohio metro market. It began broadcasting on August 20th, 1990. The very first song ever played on the station was "Hello Hello Hello Hello Petrol" by the band Something Happens.
WWCD plays alternative rock as "CD101". WWCD was one of the first stations in the country to simulcast on the internet.
WWCD is owned by Ingleside Radio who purchased the station from Video Services in 1992. It has always been locally owned. CD101 is also one of the few remaining Independant radio stations in the U.S. playing Alternative Rock.
WWCD's Program Director is Andyman Davis. He has been with the station almost since its inception. Davis was previously the station's Music Director. It's current Music Director is Jack DeVoss who has been with the station since 1993 - Music Director since 1998.
Andyman holds down the 3pm to 7pm air slot, while DeVoss handles the 7pm to 11pm show. Other CD101 DJs (as of 6/22/05) include Brian Phillips, Michael Palermo, Tom Butler, Rudy G, Joe Jewett, Katie Ryan, Leslie James, Dr. Smith, Eric, Mike Folker, Mick Jeffries, Edgy, George Caleodis, and Bones.
Former CD101 DJs include Buzz Fitzgerald, Maxx Faulkner, Lisa Axe, Scary Gary Poole, Dirk Thompson, Ken Lewis, Fritz the Nite Owl, and J.P. Collins.
WWCD airs Columbus Blue Jackets NHL hockey.
