Vitacura

Vitacura is a municipality ("comuna") of Chile located in the northeast of the province of Santiago, in the Santiago Metropolitan Region. Inhabitants are primarily high income families. It has an area of 28 km² and a population of 81,499 (2002 census).
Vitacura is see of ECLAC headquarters, home to the Chilean European Southern Observatory (ESO) headquarters. It is also home to the Augusto Pinochet Ugarte Foundation which supports former military dictator Augusto Pinochet.
